1. Information We Collect
We collect your name and email address when you create an account via Clerk. We also log which properties you search for and when, to enforce usage limits and improve the Service. We do not collect payment card information — all billing is handled by PayPal.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: provide the Service; send transactional emails (welcome, usage alerts, watchlist notifications); enforce subscription limits; and improve our product. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Data Sources
Property data displayed on knowthelot is sourced from public government records including Florida county property appraisers, building departments, FEMA, and open data portals. This data is publicly available and not considered private.
4. Cookies & Analytics
We use essential cookies for authentication (via Clerk). We may use analytics tools to understand how users interact with the Service. No advertising cookies are used.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Lookup logs are retained for 12 months. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services: Clerk (authentication), PayPal (billing), Resend (email), and PostgreSQL (database hosting). Each service has its own privacy policy.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed credentials, and role-based access controls. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password for your account.
8. Your Rights
You may access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by visiting your account settings or contacting us. Florida residents may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws.
